The Tribulation -- When Did It Begin?

One of the last teachings Yehoshua (Jesus) gave before He went to the cross, died for our sins, and rose from the dead, was the Olivet Discourse, an exposition of what world conditions would be like before He returned to the earth. In his discourse he first told of how the Temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed. That would happen in A.D. 70, just as He predicted. Then He discussed how the world would be after that time. The main point in this section was that many people would declare Him to be the Messiah, but do so to deceive people. He also declared that there would be plenty of wars, famines and earthquakes in the coming centuries, along with all sorts of false prophets. Jesus' would also warn His followers that they must endure a considerable amount of persecution, many would betray the cause, and that "iniquity shall abound." Two curious statements would follow these declarations. First, He told of how the Temple would be descrated, an event that must have happened when the Romans sacked Jerusalem, and second, He left open the possibility that some living at that time would survive to the end.

Beginning of Tribulation MatrixJesus then began to talk about a time when they were be "great tribulation" starting in Matthew 24:21. It appears that when this event takes place, that everything changes. Suddenly, the number of false Messiahs and false prophets will increase almost exponentially. These false Messiahs and false prophets will be miracle workers who will get lots of attention and draw a lot of people to them.

Beginning of Tribulation Code KeyAt the end of this period, we will begin to see the earth changes everyone has been looking for. Indeed, the Bible Codes have not failed to give us additional clues. In a very tight matrix, we find the beginning of the Tribulation to be January 21, 1961. If one goes back to that date and does some research, they will find that many ministries began to get prophecies from various people about the beginning of a tribulation period. None of the people giving these prophecies to these ministries ever realized that anyone else was getting the same prophecies. One of these ministries that reported these prophecies at the time was Gerald Derstine, a Mennonite minister. These prophecies were also reported by Colonel "Speed" Wilson in many of his teachings at Lake Hamilton Bible Camp and other locations.

President John F. KennedyPresident Dwight EisenhowerAllen DullesIt is interesting that this date coinsides with the first full day that John F. Kennedy (Pictured far right) was President of the United States. Just previously, the outgoing President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower (middle picture), gave his famous "farewell speech" of January 17, 1961 warning of a "military-industrial complex" that was taking over the government of the United States. The evidence of these being true would appear in 1963 when President Kennedy began the process of withdrawing troops from Vietnam, printing dollars without the help of the Federal Reserve, and firing the contriversial CIA director, Allen Dulles (pictured to the left smoking a pipe). All of these moves were counter to the intentions of the "Military-Industrial Complex" that President Eisenhower described. This internal conflict came to a head on November 22, 1963 at 12:30 P.M. when President Kennedy was assassinated by parties unknown at Dealey Plaza in downtown Dallas, Texas.

Picture of President JohnsonOnce Lyndon B. Johnson (pictured to the right) took the oath of office to become the 36th President of the United States, many of President Kennedy's executive orders were reversed. Troops that thought they were going to come home from Vietnam had their orders cancelled, and additional troops received orders that they were going to Vietnam. The Federal Reserve was reinstated as the private organization charged with the management of the U.S. dollar. The only thing he did not do was reinstate Allen Dulles to his job as Director of Central Intelligence. Shortly thereafter, the 1967 Arab-Israeli War took place and had a very interesting outcome. The Middle East suddenly became a hotbed of war with conflicts in 1967, 1973 (The Yom Kipper War), 1976 (First Israeli invasion of Lebanon), 1982 (Second Israeli invasion of Lebanon), 1983-1988 (Iraq-Iran War), 1991 (Gulf War I), 1996 (Bible Code thwarts Iraqi invasion of Israel), and 2003 (Gulf War II). The number and intensity of these wars is likely to escalate, not decrease as we get closer to the end.
